Liposuction, or suction-assisted lipectomy, is a
technique use to remove localized collections of excess fat. Deposits of fat on the
abdomen, hips, thighs, buttocks, knees, calves, ankles, arms, upper torso, chest, neck and
chin and face can be removed. Tumescent and Fisher techniques are utilized. Liposuction is
not a substitute for weight reduction, or a cure for obesity, but rather removes localized
areas to improve the body contour. With proper diet and exercise the results of
liposuction are long lasting and dramatic.
Can I really get the
results that I want?
Yes. In making your desires known, Dr.
Fisher, who is also an artist and sculptor, will work with you to achieve the results that
you want.
Are there risks?
Potential risks of surgery and
potential complications, such as infection or localized collections of blood, are uncommon
and can be treated. Risks of complications can be minimized by following Dr. Fisher's
instructions on follow-up care during the healing process.
Will anyone know?
No, unless you tell them. Most patients report that friends and family remark about their losing weight. Again,
proper diet after after surgery will enhance your recovery time and give you long term
satisfaction.
Does the fat come back?
No. Once the fat cells are removed,
they do not come back. A balanced diet is recommended for maintenance of your new image,
along with modest exercise.
Is it painful?
With our special techniques, most
patients do not complain of pain, but report feeling some stiffness which is relieved with
analgesics. Patients are able to return to work and moderate social activities in a few
days.
Patient Testimonials
For years I tried every diet and
exercise technique I could to lose weight. Although I was overweight, my worst areas were my thighs (saddlebags) and the areas below the waist. Even when I got down to below
my normal weight at one time, my 'saddlebags' and tummy were still noticeable. Eventually
I realized those areas were genetically predisposed to store FAT. My mother had a large
tummy and my aunt had 'saddlebags'. Finally, I gave myself the best gift I ever could -Liposuction
of those areas. It was a major decision to make, yet one I do not regret.
My ten-year wedding anniversary was approaching and I decided that rather
than getting a large carat diamond, I would be much happier with a new me!
The first day I went out in public, people noticed right away, saying,'
You've been losing weight, haven't you?!' Barbara O.
I was so amazed to see how much nicer my clothes fit after I had
liposuction. It reduced my waistline, arms, and thighs. I went on a shopping
spree and was able to buy clothes that I thought never looked good on me.
The liposuction has made a huge difference in my life. I received so many
compliments now from my husband, co-workers, and friends that it’s even
given me the push I needed to maintain a healthier lifestyle by eating right
and exercising. Lisa B.
I had liposuction on my thighs and tummy. During my consultation the surgeon
went over all the areas that I was concerned about, I’m very pleased with
the results on my tummy and thighs, which I feel could have only been
accomplished through liposuction. Marcy C.
